A small personal project I worked on. I wanted to make a handpainted prop for quite a while and it was so much fun! I really like how the liquid turned out :)
I still sculpted a highpoly mesh and baked a normal map, to support some of the handpainted details. To save a bit of texturespace I created linked copies for the mushrooms and mirrored the stone edging on the book corners on y and z (except the middle-part where it would have been too obvious). My goal was to give it a stylized look with lush colors, high contrast and defined highlights.
The basecolor I painted by hand on masked color layers in substance 3D painter. I could have painted it directly with paint layers but I like to have full control over the colors and layers afterwards.
On my artstation page you can find a marmoset viewer scene as well.
All of it was modeled in blender, painted in substance 3d painter and rendered with marmoset toolbag.
